Bushy Park will feature on the routes of the Olympic Cycling Road Race and Time Trial cycling events. Richmond Park will feature on the out-bound and in-bound legs of the Olympic Cycling Road Race events.
On 9 March 2011 the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) announced the route of the men's and women's Time Trial cycling event which will take place on 1 August 2012.
The men's Time Trial, which will be 44km long, will be held during the afternoon and it will take in Bushy Park along the route. The race is against the clock with riders starting 90 seconds apart. The cyclist that completes the course in the fastest time wins.
The route will start at Hampton Court Palace and then travel south - it will come back via Kingston, then Teddington and then it will head through Bushy Park along Chestnut Avenue and around the Diana Fountain. It will exit Bushy Park at Hampton Court Gate and then finish at Hampton Court Palace.
