The Royal Parks Apprenticeship Scheme is an ideal way to begin a career in horticulture and open space management. Our Apprenticeship Programme is an award winning 2-5 year apprenticeship combining college-based learning with workplace training.
As an Apprentice Gardener, you'll get paid to work and learn at your own pace in one of eight Royal Parks, where you'll have five years in which to complete the programme. You may be offered a job with The Royal Parks on completion of the Apprenticeship.
At the end of the apprenticeship, you will be ideally placed to continue your career in the horticultural industry either in a 'hands-on' role or by progressing to a management or supervisory post. This could be within open space management, landscape construction or design industries.
Many past Royal Park Apprentices are now employed as either Park Managers, Supervisors or Contract Managers for The Royal Parks' contractors or in key local authority posts.
The Apprenticeship Programme is run by The Royal Parks in conjunction with Capel Manor College and The Royal Parks Landscape Maintenance Contractors and is supported by The Royal Parks' Guild.
