Parade Ground Restoration Project

Work has now started to restore and repair the existing pathways and surface drainage to the Parade Ground, the large open space on the eastern side of Hyde Park.

The project will enhance the area for all visitors and aims to restore pathways, removing dips and uneven areas; improve drainage; and ensure underground services are adequately protected by replacing manhole covers.

The work will be taking place from January to April 2009 and will be done in sections to minimise disruption. At times, access to certain areas of the Parade Ground will be restricted but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum.
