Winter Wonderland Improvement Works

Following the success of Winter Wonderland, a series of improvement works are currently taking place to ensure the area is returned to its original state. The scope of the works is as follows :

• Re-turf parkland area where the Hall of Mirrors and Bavarian Market was situated (approx 1500m²). This is the area to the west of the bandstand adjacent to Serpentine Road.
• Re-turf parkland area to the north west of the bandstand (approx 2300m²)
• Harrow, spike and topdress remaining parkland areas, using 50-50 topdressing (50% sandy loam, 50% recycled material from Kensington Gardens leafyard) (approx 20,000m²)
• Light raking and topdressing of bulb areas on grass verge bordering the Serpentine Road

This work is being undertaken in Spring 2009.
