Following the success of the allotment in St James's Park, we have created an allotment next to the storeyard in Kensington Gardens.
You're welcome to wander in anytime to enjoy and relax at the allotment, as well as pick up some useful tips for growing your own fruit and vegetables.
The allotment is open to schools, volunteers and community groups who want to learn more about sustainability and growing vegetables organically.
The allotment also keeps chickens, which is an exciting step forward - and of course an opportunity to learn about another element of self-sufficiency.
We are currently developing a programme of educational activities for schools and the wider community. At this stage we're looking at subjects such as container growing and how to involve the local community in using green spaces.
The Allotment hosts Ask the Expert Days, where past and present Royal Parks staff are on hand to draw on their wealth of experience to help you with any allotment related questions and queries* you may have.
There will be plenty of activities to entertain all ages so come along to find out more and enjoy a stroll around Kensington Gardens' most recent hidden gem.
Future dates for the Ask the Expert Days will be published here when they have been scheduled.
*Photographic examples may help with identification of problems. Please do not bring blighted vegetation in to the park due to the danger of infecting healthy stock within the allotment.
