Regent's Park Capital Kids Cricket

Cricket Capital Kids Cricket is a charity dedicated to the re-establishment of cricket in the state primary and secondary schools of Inner London.

When it was formed 15 years ago only about 20 primary schools out of a total of nearly 800 still taught a sport which plays a vital role in the healthy and disciplined upbringing of young boys and girls. Now well over half offer cricket tuition as part of the school curriculum and many secondary schools have followed their example.

A full programme of coaching and competitive inter-school matches and tournaments in Regent's Park is currently being prepared for the 2006 summer season.

Capital Kids Cricket were invited by The Royal Parks to make The Hub its headquarters and the charity had the honour of staging a two-day Festival of Cricket in Regent's Park in May, 2005, as the centrepiece of a Community Week-end to launch the newly completed sports facilities in the park. It was also instrumental in forming Regent's Park Juniors Cricket Club.
