Phasers on stun - from deep space to Hyde Park via Hollywood it's... STAR TREK - THE ADVENTURE
Hyde Park

Star Date: December 6th 2002

Direct to HYDE PARK from the soundstages of PARAMOUNT PICTURES in HOLLYWOOD comes, for the first time ever, the ultimate entertainment and exhibition:

STAR TREK - THE ADVENTURE.

Never seen before, this multi-media interactive experience allows fans of all ages to be taken through five decades of STAR TREK adventures. London has been chosen as first to experience this event, in HYDE PARK, prior to a world tour. Advance bookings for tickets begins FRIDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER for admissions from 6TH DECEMBER through 31ST JANUARY 2003.

Contained within a 7,000 square meter hi-tech climate-controlled environment, STAR TREK - THE ADVENTURE offers everything from specially re-created sets, props, costumes and interactive demonstrations which chronicle the continuing story of the most imaginative and visionary television and movie series ever.

Stars, creators and state-of-the-art technology come together to fully reveal every aspect of the creative process behind this worldwide phenomenon. It's the ultimate "FanFair" for all things Trek. Among the hundreds of items on display will be exhibits that draw from all five top-rated television shows and all ten feature films, including the latest movie, "STAR TREK:NEMESIS", coming to cinemas on 3RD JANUARY 2003.
There is a variety of experiences to cater for all. One moment a visitor can pass into a world of dynamic, engaging, utterly involving interactive revelation. The next they can see what it's like to be 'beamed up' in a TRANSPORTER and have that whole event captured on videotape forevermore.
Other highlights include; the 'BRIDGE EXPERIENCE' which features a visit to one of the most famous command centers ever, plus flight simulators, TREK TRIVIA in a three-story replica of QUARK'S BAR from "DEEP SPACE NINE" and a first-ever look at the massive ARMORY set from the latest STAR TREK series, "ENTERPRISE".
There are galleries of the great and the good from past eons of interstellar action, and a whole area devoted to in-depth demonstrations of alien make-up and makeovers. Longtime production designer HERMAN ZIMMERMAN appears in a presentation to explain how environments and ships are imagined and brought to life.
Special video salutes with never seen before interview footage will pay homage to legendary STAR TREK creator GENE RODDENBERRY and the early history of his unique creation. There are timelines to track, a turbolift re-creation, and a chance to watch on video a visual effects designer as he creates and executes some of the state-of-the-art special effects for which STAR TREK is justly famous.
Souvenirs galore, STARFLEET RESTAURANTS and a movie theatre showing the best STAR TREK episodes ever will act as a backdrop to the exhibition's centerpiece.
It's not in any way just for STAR TREK enthusiasts but a day of wonder for the whole family. Indeed, this is for anyone who's a fan of excitement, adventure and the exploration of the furthest limits of the human imagination.

STAR TREK - THE ADVENTURE opens on FRIDAY 6TH DECEMBER until FRIDAY 31ST JANUARY 2003. Opening hours are 10am-8pm Mon-Fri (tickets in advance £13.50) and 10am-10pm Sat-Sun (tickets in advance £15.50).
