World Record First in Regent's Park

National Family Week to Partner with The Royal Parks

On Monday 25 May, as part of National Family Week, thousands of families from across the UK will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest picnic across multiple venues. Families in London are invited to join the headline event within Regent's Park.

The world record attempt will be held in two beautiful locations within Regent's Park: Queen Mary's Gardens and Holme Green with Marylebone Green on hand as an overflow area. The fun-filled picnic extravaganza will open for registration at 11am with entertainment starting from midday and the picnic record attempt set to commence at 1pm.

There will be a wide range of free activities and entertainment on offer including puppet shows and live music. There will also be some great prizes to win from National Family Week's sponsors and the National Family Week's 'Family of the Year' will be crowned and congratulated by a host of celebrities including Gail Porter, Antony Worrall Thompson, Vanessa Feltz, Sally Gunnell and Professor Tanya Byron.

Weather presenter Sian Lloyd, whilst hoping for fabulous weather for the Family Week Picnic, said: "Food is one of my real passions and I can think of no better excuse than a big picnic or family feast to get everyone rounded up."

The World Record attempt is open to everyone, all that is needed is a rug or mat, food and drink including a minimum of two courses per person and of course family and friends.
