Active Travel Sunday in Regent's Park
A Celebration of Walking, Running and Cycling
Active Travel Sunday will take place on 7 June 2009 on The Broad Walk in Regent's Park. This free and fun event, organised by The Royal Parks, is designed to encourage people to walk, run or cycle rather than travel by car or bus.
The event will run from midday until 6pm and there will be a wide range of activities on offer including: Dr Bike's cycle surgery offering advice and fine tuning bikes, information on fun runs and walks, free cycle training, a display from Camden Green Fair and a solar powered mini cinema in a recycled taxi.
Nick Biddle, Park Manager of The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill said: "The Royal Parks is keen to encourage people to use environmentally friendly and healthy forms of transport. We hope that Active Travel Sunday will inspire visitors to get out and about in new ways."
