New Summer Activities for Children in Regent's Park

The Royal Parks is to offer a wide range of new activities for children aged eight to 14. Summer Sports Camps in Regent's Park will run from 20 July to 27 August 2009, giving young people the chance to try new sports in the great outdoors.

Each camp runs for one day and costs £6 per child. The camps are aimed at all abilities and the emphasis is on having fun while getting fit. Camps include a variety of activities: cricket, Aussie Rules football, softball, athletics, circuit training, rugby, football and orienteering. There will also be free dance classes on offer and an outdoor circus school.

Jill Osleger, Active Sports Manager, Regent's Park, said: "We hope that our new Summer Sports programme will encourage young people to take an interest in sport and to try new activities with our highly qualified and enthusiastic coaches. The programme caters for a wide range of ages and abilities, placing emphasis on enjoyment and participation."
