Harvest Fair at the St James's Park Allotment
The St James's Park Allotment will host its final Harvest Fair on 26 and 27 September 2009. This free event will mark the end of the successful three year Royal Parks' project.
Between 11am and 4pm a range of activities, including arts and crafts for children, will be on offer. Horticulture experts will offer advice on growing fruit and vegetables and The Royal Parks Shire horses, Jed and Forte, will be there to meet and greet.
Mark Wasilewski, Park Manager of St James's Park said: "The St James's Park Allotment has inspired thousands of people to grow their own fruit and veg. The Harvest Fair marks the end of this successful three year project, but The Royal Parks aims to extend the programme further and give even more people the opportunity to get growing. In 2010 new vegetable growing spaces will be established in Regent's Park, Kensington Gardens, and next to Duck Island Cottage in St James's Park."

About the St James's Park Allotment:
The organic allotment started in 2007 with the aim of encouraging more people to grow their own fruit and vegetables. The allotment promotes sustainability and recycling and is tended by school groups, Royal Parks' apprentices, and community volunteers.
