Get Active in Richmond Park

Active Travel Saturday will take place on 10 October 2009 at Roehampton Car Park in Richmond Park. This free and fun event, organised by The Royal Parks, is designed to encourage people to walk, run or cycle rather than drive.

The event will run from 11am until 4pm and there will be a wide range of activities on offer including: Dr Bike's cycle surgery offering advice and bike checks, information on fun runs and walks, and free bike security markings.

Simon Richards, Park Manager of Richmond Park said: "The Royal Parks is keen to encourage people to use environmentally friendly and healthy forms of transport. We hope that Active Travel Saturday will inspire visitors to explore Richmond Park on two wheels or by foot - rather than by car. Richmond Park is a National Nature Reserve and it is full of interesting wildlife - you can see so much more through walking, running or cycling."
