The Royal Parks shows Passage to Freedom
'Passage to Freedom' will take place in Victoria Tower Gardens this weekend. Part of Black History Month, this Royal Parks' event will celebrate the lives and work of those who campaigned to abolish the slave trade.
'Andrew Ashmore and Associates' will perform free one hour shows at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on both Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 of October. No booking is required and the performances will be held at the Buxton Memorial, next to the Houses of Parliament.
Adam Farrar, Head of Events for The Royal Parks said: "Passage to Freedom is a living history performance that brings to life the hardships faced by the slaves and the dedication of all those who campaigned to free them. The Royal Parks commissioned this production specifically for Victoria Tower Gardens, the site of the Buxton Memorial, which commemorates pro-abolition campaigners."
