Get the kids active this summer without breaking the bank

If you are looking to keep the kids busy and away from the TV or computer screen this summer, why not take them to The Regent's Park and get them to participate in one of the weekly sports camps at The Hub? With a great range of sporting activities on offer, there are now no more excuses. Best of all, most of the classes are free of charge.

This summer, The Regent's Park has teamed up with some fantastic local organisations to create a 6-week holiday activity programme for young people from 6 to 16 years-old. The diverse range of weekly camps includes baseball (July 23-25), netball and rugby (July 30-August 3), beach volleyball (August 6-8), Aussie rules and American football (August 13-17), basketball and cricket (August 20-24). There's even a Girls only soccer school run by QPR (August 6-10). And don't forget The Hub's regular multi-sports sessions for as little as £1.

For those who want to improve their dance skills and fitness levels, The Outside Dance project (13-17 August) is ideal. Designed for boys and girls aged 11 to 14, it gives them the opportunity to dance to live music, explore the park and its wildlife as well as create and perform a brand new dance work. It is also a great way of meeting lots of new people and provides a fun and challenging experience in the beauty of The Regent's Park.

Another fun and free event is the Family Olympathon on Sunday 19 August. Families and groups of all ages are encouraged to come down and try out fun style sports and activities including "free running" (also known as parkour), beach volleyball, outdoor climbing and even archery! You will also be able to test your baseball, cricket and American football skills. And for those who get hungry, a terrace barbeque will be available.
