Bulb Planting at Speaker's Corner - Hyde Park

What: Join us to plant bulbs 'in the green' at Speakers corner!

Speakers' Corner is a traditional site for public speeches and debates since the mid 1800's when protests and demonstrations took place in Hyde Park and is located on the north-east edge of Hyde Park, nearest Marble Arch and Oxford Street. Historic figures such as Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin and George Orwell were known to often use the area to demonstrate free speech.

It is also one of the busiest and most used entrances into the Park. We have several fenced areas that we would love to fill with welcoming colour. Planting spring bulbs including bluebells and snowdrops will not only create some fabulous displays, but also provide spring nectar and pollen for our resident insects.

Please note, this activity does require bending down and kneeling.

Who: This is the ideal opportunity for anyone with an interest in, nature conservation and/or horticulture, and is open to anyone over the age of 16 (Those aged 18 and under must fill in and return a form signed by their parent or guardian).

How: If you would like to get involved book a space online via our Volunteer Hub.
