- The raised beds in the allotment had sunk and were lying on a layer of clay, which made water logging a constant problem. Earlier this year new planks and soil were installed, allowing a better drainage of the beds.
- Improved and updated the garden’s compost bin area, which now showcases a wide range of ways to compost garden waste that’s relevant to gardens of all different sizes.
- Built a moveable wood fired clay cob-style oven for the cooking of breads and pizzas, which was particularly useful for the annual Harvest Festival where the allotment garden staff cook food for the public based on fresh ingredients harvested in the garden.
The Regent's Park allotment garden run various activities including open days and food growing training throughout the year. It’s open to the public Monday to Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm. You can find it on the corner of the Inner Circle and Chester Road, next to the park office.
