Eight children from Princess Frederica Primary School will be on the hunt for minibeasts at today’s official launch of The LookOut, Hyde Park.
This inspiring, new environmental education centre in the heart of London features nature trails, a dipping pond, a mini-allotment, butterfly bank, lightning tree, minibeast loggery and two state of the art discovery rooms. In this new natural haven, city children and young people will enjoy hands-on learning (linked to the national curriculum) outside of the classroom, connect with nature and experience maths, science, history and art in action.
This wonderful new education centre has been funded by a unique collaboration between the Royal Parks Foundation, Halcyon Gallery and The Royal Parks; creating a new model of fundraising, where the charity, private and public sector work together to generate income for educational purposes through public art.
The LookOut has been supported, amongst others, by Trudie Styler and Sting and Jo Malone, as well as by Royal Parks Foundation Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales who helped launch the fundraising appeal.
