New Year's Eve 2013 - St James's Park

Published Tuesday 19 August 2014

New Year's Eve 2013 - St James's Park

As the clock strikes 12 on New Year's Eve London's night skies will come alive with a blaze of light and colour in a stunning pyrotechnics display, presented by Mayor of London Boris Johnson, from the EDF Energy London Eye on the South Bank.

Very large crowds are expected on the night in central London with limited space in the official viewing areas along Victoria Embankment. Much of St James's Park will be closed offering only limited viewing areas such as from Horse Guards Road.

The display will be shown live on BBC 1 so if you'd rather not face the crowds then you can watch the spectacular show from the comfort of your own home. Alternatively Visit London has a comprehensive list of events local to you over the Christmas and New Year period.

If you choose to come into central London you should plan your journey on public transport to and from the fireworks as there will be major changes to regular tube and train services and many roads and bridges will be closed to traffic.

For full details please visit the Greater London Authority website.
