VE Day 70: A Party to Remember

Published Thursday 7 May 2015

Thousands are set to enjoy the star-studded celebratory concert, 'VE Day 70: A Party To Remember' this Saturday despite a changeable weather forecast.

Although it's looking likely to be a typically British start to the weather on Saturday, the forecast is set to brighten up just as the curtain rises and the concert begins at London's Horse Guards Parade in St James's Park. However, a little wet weather doesn't look like it is going to dampen the nation's spirit, as the country prepares to celebrate the 70th anniversary of VE Day. So, wrap up warm, don a hat and scarf but out of consideration for others please don't bring a brolly!

Refreshments are also allowed into the event, but please no alcohol or glass.

Hosted by Chris Evans, 'VE Day 70: A Party To Remember' is a focal point of the national celebrations for the 70th anniversary of VE Day. The already announced line-up includes performances inspired by and from the war-time era including songs such as White Cliffs Of Dover, You'll Never Walk Alone, As Time Goes By and the iconic We'll Meet Again.

The stars of the concert are: Adrian Lester, Alexander Armstrong,Alfie Boe, Bernard Cribbins, Blue, Chas & Dave, Collabro, Diversity, Elaine Paige, Gregory Porter, Honeysuckle Weeks, Ian Lavender, Jamelia, Jane Horrocks, Julia Sawalha, Katherine Jenkins, Laura Wright, Laurence Fox, Pixie Lott, Rebecca Ferguson, Status Quo, Strictly Come Dancing.

VE Day 70: A Party To Remember is a Royal British Legion concert produced by Live Nation and the BBC that will be broadcast on BBC One that evening and on Radio 2.

Tickets for VE Day 70: A Party To Remember are on sale NOW so make sure to get the final few remaining tickets and join the celebrations!
