Following consistently warm weather the lake is showing signs of algal blooms, some of which appear to be blue green algae. Samples will be analysed to confirm which species are present.
Blue green algae can cause severe skin rashes, eye irritation, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever and pains in muscles and joints.
It is a sensible precaution for you, your children, and your animals to avoid contact with the lake water at this time.
