A new ‘playscape’ is on the horizon as we plan to create a beautiful new £1m playground for children of all abilities to play together in a safe, nature-inspired setting.

Thousands of children have hopped, skipped and jumped across the Gloucester Gate since it opened in the 1930s. We need your help so children of the future can continue to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Our vision for Gloucester Gate playground

Our vision is to transform Gloucester Gate playground into a wonderful new ‘playscape’ that encourages imaginative, physical and social play in tune with nature.

Located close to London Zoo in the north-east of The Regent's Park, Gloucester Gate playground is very popular with local families and park visitors alike.

The playground was originally built decades ago when the traditional design approach was focused on prescribed activity, such as swings, slides and roundabouts. This often means there is little scope for social or imaginative play, with children becoming more easily bored. After decades of hard use by enthusiastic youngsters, it’s now worn out and in urgent need of repair and modernisation.

With our partners, we’ll transform Gloucester Gate playground into an inspiring place where children of all abilities and their families can meet and play together.
