The Royal Parks has embarked on an exciting and ambitious journey to develop a Movement Strategy that will influence movement and transportation throughout our parks and London.

Engagement Phase Two

We are pleased to share our Movement Strategy for public comment. This is a result of input and support from park users and key stakeholders, as well as consideration for the parks’ strategic goals and priorities. To learn more about our previous engagement work, click here

To provide feedback on this strategy, please make a submission before 25 March 2020. Send your comments to:

Next steps

Upon completion of Engagement Phase Two, we will work to incorporate the feedback shared by our stakeholders into the final Movement Strategy. We will seek adoption of this strategy from The Royal Park board of trustees and develop an accompanying Movement Strategy Implementation Plan that will detail projects and proposals over the next 5 years.

What is the Movement Strategy?

The Movement Strategy will set a long-term vision for how park visitors will move within, access and subsequently experience the parks.

The strategy will include a comprehensive exploration of all movement and access related issues and opportunities that are relevant to the parks both now and into the foreseeable future.

This will include (but is not limited to) increasing safety for all park users, reducing the impact of vehicle-based traffic and reducing conflict between different modes.

Engagement phase one survey results

In early summer, we asked the public for feedback through a survey around the development of our Movement Strategy. We are pleased to share the results from the nearly 7,000 individual submissions we received. Please see the summary of the results, below.
