Panda began work as Play Programme Coordinator for Play in the Parks in October 2020. She is working, along with Scheherezade Soodeen, to deliver inclusive play opportunities for families local to Gloucester Gate and Greenwich Park Playgrounds which are adaptable to changing needs especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Panda’s background is in play, and community work. Over the past ten years she has coordinated and delivered programmes for children with disabilities and their families as well as play projects on estates in East London. She lives on a boat, has a cat called Captain Isaac Meowington, her favourite thing to play is 40 40 / Kick the Can or anything which involves getting messy.
Scheherezade has been with London Play since springtime 2019 and, as well as supporting on the Play Streets programme, she has teamed up with The Royal Parks on the Play in the Parks initiative. Her background is in art, design and community engagement, and has a strong-held belief that play and creativity are tools that can strengthen communities and positively shape our environments. Scheherezade is committed to offering inclusive play opportunities to children from all walks of life whilst encouraging self-expression and discovery along the way. She’s keen to master the floss and skateboard...not at the same time!, is a chocolate fiend and enjoys long meandering walks without purpose.
Ledy heads learning and participation programmes in the Royal Parks, and works closely with partners London Play. She makes sure Play in the Park is the best it could be, achieves its objectives and links with other learning, participation and wellbeing initiatives happening across the parks and beyond.
