Roehampton Restored
February 2026
The Royal Parks charity is carrying out works in February 2026 to enable the installation of a new electricity supply in preparation for the new café as part of the Roehampton Restored project.
A section of the Tamsin Trail will be closed between Roehampton Gate and the Roehampton Car Park entrance.
We apologise for the disruption and during this time encourage visitors to use an alternative route. Cyclists, please follow the road for a short distance before re-joining the Tamsin Trail.
Thank you for bearing with us.

The Royal Parks charity is pleased that planning permission has been granted for a new café at Roehampton Gate in Richmond Park.
The current facilities at Roehampton Gate are temporary structures put in place almost 20 years ago after a fire destroyed the original buildings. These facilities do not offer the capacity or modern amenities required to serve park visitors.
Under our proposals, the space will be transformed into an environmentally excellent café at Roehampton Gate, Richmond Park, which is in keeping with the landscape it sits in and is able to cope with increased visitor numbers. We will create a more family-friendly destination, offering a wide range of fresh produce to meet visitor demand and expectation. The park landscape around the café will be improved and enhanced, with a view to increasing biodiversity.
Moreover, our initiative to revitalise the Roehampton Café aligns with our commitment to social responsibility. We aim to enhance the visitor experience by supporting a restored charity model and contributing positively to the local community. Your help at the Roehampton Café directly fuels our efforts to preserve this landmark and support charitable causes. Join us in supporting a worthy cause at the heart of Richmond Park.
The timescale of the project is still to be confirmed. Please check this page for updates.
