The Royal Parks is hosting a free Harvest Festival day on Saturday 21st September between 11.00am and 4.00pm at its popular Kensington Gardens' Allotment.
Enjoy a stroll around Kensington Gardens' hidden gem and meet experts from The Royal Parks Guild, The Royal Parks alumni society, who will be on site to answer your questions about food growing.
Fun activities for young people relating to growing and life in an allotment will include
making potato people, face painting, story telling and the return of 'Miller's Ark Animals' mobile farm with a range of farm animals to pet.
Toni Assirati, Head of Education & Community Engagement, said:
"The annual Harvest Festival is the perfect opportunity to visit this hidden gem,
and to see the amazing array of seasonal vegetables grown here, as well as pick upsome useful tips for growing your own fruit and vegetables.
The allotment also keeps chickens, which makes it a particularly attractive destination forfamilies and children, and provides an exciting opportunity to
learn about another element of self-sufficiency."
The entrance to the allotment is located on Buckhill Walk in Kensington Gardens, a shortwalk from Buckhill Playground - next to The
Magazine and just off West Carriage Drive.
