Autumn transforms Hyde Park with fresh colour and active wildlife. This self-guided route leads you through some of the park’s most unique areas, from historic monuments to peaceful gardens. The full walk is shown on the map below, with the key stops listed here for your convenience. You can start at whichever point is closest to where you enter the park and follow the route in either direction at your own pace.
Several shorter loops lead off from the main route, allowing you to tailor the walk to suit you and the time you have available. There's no need to complete the entire route in one visit, as you can always return another time to explore the sections you missed.
- Speakers’ Corner: the park's world-famous site of public debate and free speech, with a rich history stretching back more than 150 years
- Parade Ground: visit on 8 September to watch the ceremonial 41-gun Accession Day salute, a longstanding royal tradition taking place in the heart of Hyde Park
- Serpentine Bridge: offering one of the finest views across the Serpentine, with sweeping waterside scenes and seasonal colour along the shoreline
- Boathouse: rowboats and pedalos available for hire, providing a unique perspective on the park's autumn scenery from the water
- Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain: a peaceful waterside memorial featuring flowing water and a tranquil setting beneath the changing leaves
- Manège at South Carriage Drive: a popular spot to see Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment horses during training and exercise sessions
- The Dell: a secluded garden with ornamental planting and a vibrant display of autumn foliage
- Autumn Garden within the Rose Garden: a seasonal showcase of late-flowering plants, rich colours and textures that can't be missed
- Lover's Walk: a peaceful tree-lined path offering a quieter route through the park, particularly beautiful as the leaves begin to turn.
