Join us this October half term to celebrate the autumn season at Greenwich Park – through the theme of water!
Drop in to the Greenwich Park Learning Centre throughout the day on Thursday 29 October to explore the history, archaeology and wildlife of Greenwich Park through the theme of water. Join us to learn about the park’s ponds, lakes and long-lost waterways.
There is no need to book, simply come along and get involved in a range of activities, including:
- Explore our Wonderful Water Trail to discover ways we manage water and protect the park from drought and flooding
- Discover how climate change affects pond life, through a fun, interactive activity exploring the challenges faced by pond wildlife
- Build your own LEGO conduits and discover Greenwich Park’s mysterious underground water system
- Find our quiet corner and enjoy our water-themed colouring activities
- Try a mini archaeological dig, uncover finds hidden in trays and have a go at restoring an artefact
- Have a go at pond dipping and meet some of the amazing wildlife living in the pond
- Get creative in the classroom with our spooky make and take activities

The Greenwich Park Learning Centre is all on one level, connected by accessible paths (suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs and scooters). There are toilets on site, including an accessible toilet and baby changing facilities. The nearest refreshments are close by at the Ignatius Sancho Café (approx. 8 minutes walking distance), where there is also a Changing Places Toilet. Be sure to check the weather ahead of time – most activities will be undercover, but we also encourage you to explore the outdoors if you can.
