Westminster City Council, in partnership with local and national animal charities, is putting on a series of free dog welfare events in the coming months.
The council is committed to improving animal welfare and is currently the only local authority in the country to hold four awards from the RSPCA PawPrint Awards, which recognizes organisations that that go above and beyond for the welfare of animals.
At the series of free, drop-in events, dog owners will be able to access a microchipping service as well as expert advice from animal welfare specialists on a range of topics from how best to manage separation anxiety if returning to work to top tips on teaching dogs to interact safely with other dogs and children in public spaces as we come out of lockdown.
There will also be additional fun freebies on the day. At the first event on 20th July, in partnership with Mayhew, there will be a unique opportunity to get a pawtrait of your pet from specialist photographer Gruff Pawtraits and a doggy pool in case any furry legged visitors need a cool down.
The events take place on the following dates:
- Tuesday 20th July - St George’s Square
- Saturday 4th September - Regents Park
- Saturday 25th September - Kensington Gardens
- Sunday 3rd October - Paddington Recreational Ground
