Two years volunteering in Bushy Park has helped Joab find a job. His support worker Anthony says it's been a huge boost to his confidence.
"I am a support worker to Joab, a young man with a learning disability. He's a very keen gardener and very proud to be volunteering for The Royal Parks in Bushy Park.
"Joab has been volunteering on Tuesdays for the best part of 2 years now and it has been wonderful for him. His confidence has noticeably grown since starting and he now feels like a fully fledged member of the team, as you can see in the picture below. He was so proud to be accepted and issued his volunteer uniform that he wears it with pride and belonging.
"Since starting Joab has done a number of tasks from basic weeding. His increased confidence has affected his working life as well as his personal life, as he's been able to gain permanent paid employment."
