Get Wimbledon Ready: Tennis in the Royal Parks
Discover the best Wimbledon activities in London
From watching live matches in Hyde Park to playing tennis across the Royal Parks this summer.
As Wimbledon returns to SW19, the excitement stretches far beyond Centre Court. Across the Royal Parks, there are plenty of ways to watch, play and experience tennis this summer.
Players to watch at Wimbledon
This year’s Championships promise compelling stories across all formats, with a mix of established champions, rising stars and the much-anticipated return of the Williams sisters.
In the men’s draw, defending champion and world No. 1 Jannik Sinner arrives as the standout favourite, eager to bounce back after his early exit at Roland-Garros. Fresh from his triumph in Paris, Alexander Zverev also heads to Wimbledon full of confidence. Chasing a rare double by winning both Roland-Garros and Wimbledon in the same calendar year, he could join tennis greats including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Björn Borg. Novak Djokovic remains a key contender too, as he looks to extend his record Grand Slam haul and become the oldest men’s singles champion at 39.
The women’s competition looks equally as competitive, with the prospect of a tenth new champion in as many years, adding to Wimbledon’s recent unpredictability. Maja Chwalińska, who made a remarkable run from qualifying to the French Open final, has earned a wild card place in the draw. Defending champion Iga Świątek will be aiming to retain her title and become the first woman since Serena Williams (2015–2016) to win back-to-back Wimbledon crowns. World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka continues her pursuit of a first title at SW19, while British hopes rest on Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter, both building momentum following strong grass-court performances at Queen’s.
The wheelchair events promise just as much excitement. British favourite Alfie Hewett will be determined to go one step further after finishing runner-up last year, as he bids to add another men’s singles title to his collection. Reigning champion and world No. 1 Tokito Oda will pose a major threat as he pursues a tenth Grand Slam title at just 20 years old. Elsewhere, 2016 champion Gordon Reid is set for his ninth main draw appearance at the tournament, while Andy Lapthorne will be aiming to secure his first Wimbledon title in the quad singles draw.
