Join us in the Kensington Gardens Allotment to celebrate food growing in the heart of the city.
Drop in between 12pm – 3pm on Saturday 12th September to meet staff and volunteers who can bring the small but mighty space to life. Suitable for people of all ages.
There is no need to book, simply come along and get involved in a range of activities, including:
- Learning about food growing, seasonal fruit and veg, and climate-resilient gardening
- Making a paper pot and planting a seed to grow yourself
- Getting creative with art and crafts, plus lots of playful activities
- Discovering the wildlife that call the allotment home
- Chat to staff and volunteers to learn about how the allotment and wider park is managed for people and wildlife

Access and facilities information
- The Kensington Garden Allotment is all on one level with hard standing ground. There is one step located next to a small pond which is where a bench is located. The growing beds are in raised planters in close proximity, making some paths narrow.
- The closest parking is located at the Triangle Car Park, located here. Parking is free of charge for Blue Badge holders, but is subject to a 4-hour time limit.
- The Allotment has limited seating, but folding white chairs will be available.
- The closest toilets are located next to Italian Gardens Cafe, here. They are approximately an 8 – 10 minute walk from the Allotment.
- The nearest point for refreshments can be found at the Colicci Serpentine Coffee House, here. This is approximately a 4 minute walk from the Allotment.
