Andy Williams, Park Manager for Kensington Gardens is part of Historic England’s ‘I am London’ exhibition that will be showcased at City Hall from 3-28 April.
The free exhibition, previously held at Central St Martins in Kings Cross, features 30 photos of iconic, pioneering, creative and fascinating Londoners.
Historic England’s 'I am London' exhibition celebrates the unique and complex identity of the city. London is about scientific endeavour, cutting edge art, performance and design, politics and campaigning. It is also about pubs, pearly kings and parks.
Andy Williams, Kensington Gardens' Park Manager said: “I feel very privileged to be part of the 'I am London' campaign. There are plenty of things that make London special, but the fact it is one of greenest capital cities in the world, with over 47% of green space is what stands out for me. Kensington Gardens is one of eight Royal Parks that together provide 5,000 acres of historic parkland across the Capital, helping Londoners breathe that bit easier.”
Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London said: “This wonderful exhibition encapsulates how much London has changed over the years. It also reminds us why the capital continues to be the most open, pioneering and diverse city on the planet.” .
